aaN  Anna Galek

Anna Galek is a performer, puppet maker and director. Originally from Poland but has spent the past 4 years in London studying and working. Anna is experienced in theatre for children and has performed professionally in London, Wales and as part of the Edinburgh Festival in 2014 and 2015. She is also able to run workshops for both children and adults in the UK and spent 2 years at the University of Wroclaw teaching Drama to foreign students. Her biggest influence has been Sue Dacre, a Master Puppeteer, who Anna feels very privileged to learn and work with. What really interests her is exploring the human condition within a theatrical context and how humans act and react in extreme conditions. That to her is exciting theatre and something she learnt from Dacre. Anna believes that in modern theatre there are no cultural, physical or communicational barriers, we are the ones who create restrictions which prevent us from feeling free or happy. Both whilst creating a show and in everyday life we should be open minded and curious about the world. Theatre for her is a constant quest to hit head on. Anna is currently directing a piece 'A Rose is a Rose' which will be presented at the Cockpit Theatre, London.
